Baby Wise Recall ("the app", "we") helps parents track official product recalls. We built it to collect as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, no data sales, and no tracking across other apps or websites.

What we collect

Your product list. The products, brands, and categories you choose to track (your "pantry"). This is used only to match recalls against what's in your home.
Push notification token. A device token issued by Apple so we can send you recall alerts. It is not tied to your name or identity.
A random device identifier. Used to store your product list and preferences between sessions, since the app has no accounts.
Basic diagnostics. Crash logs and performance data provided by Apple's standard frameworks, used only to fix bugs.

What we don't collect

No name, email, phone number, or contacts
No location data
No photos — barcode scanning happens on your device; images are never uploaded
No advertising identifiers, and no data is used for advertising or marketing
No data about your children

How your data is used

Everything we collect is used for app functionality only: matching official recall feeds (FDA, USDA, CPSC and other public sources) against your product list and notifying you when something matches. We do not use your data for tracking, advertising, or profiling, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.

Where it lives & how long

Your product list is stored on your device and on our servers (hosted in the United States) so alerts can be matched while the app is closed. Deleting a product removes it from our servers; deleting the app and its data removes your device identifier.

Children's privacy

Baby Wise Recall is made for parents and caregivers, not for children. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app stores no information about your child — only the products you choose to track.

Third parties

Recall information comes from official public government sources. We use Apple's push notification service to deliver alerts. We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
